There are some seasons that make taking action on our fitness goals more challenging than others. In the fall and the winter, not only does the cold weather tempt us to hit the snooze button instead of launching out of bed and out the door for our morning workouts. Holiday festivities make us indulge in treats more often, stay up later to spend time with friends and family, and fill our schedules with responsibilities like hosting parties, baking goodies, and purchasing endless amounts of gifts. All this can compound and take us away from our goals. There’s only one solution.
Remind Yourself of What’s Important
When times get tough, you MUST remember you goals. Ask yourself the following questions:
- What are my biggest health and fitness goals?
- What habits are necessary to maintain or keep moving toward those goals?
- How can I make space and time in my life to make sure I keep performing those habits?
- What tricks can I use to help me? A few suggestions from our coaches: schedule your workouts in advance, recruit a friend, hire a personal trainer who will help keep you accountable.
If your health and fitness is truly a priority, you MUST make time to answer these questions. In fact… do it now! Pull out a notebook and write down the answers to each of the questions listed above. You can do this. Let’s make this holiday season one where you WIN when it comes to your fitness goals.
