Fall is almost upon us. You know what that means, more workouts indoors. But we’re lucky with our California climate. Our summers tend to last longer and we definitely don’t have to plan for snow, that means we always have great running conditions. If you love the group workout environment and accountability of having a buddy, but want to stretch your legs outdoors, running is a great alternative.

Whether for fun or for fitness we have a great array of local runs available. It doesn’t matter if you’re a long distance runner, just starting out, or even if walking is your preference, we know some cool events for you, friends, and family.

Let’s Run!

Do you love going to concerts? Or just music in general? We have the perfect run for you! San Jose’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is a great way to start off the season. It’s held locally in downtown San Jose the first weekend of October. They also have a 5k and 10k option if you’re a new runner or just want to go for fun.

If Trick or Treating isn’t your thing, check out the Dia De Los Muertos Festival 3k and 5k. Hosted in Santa Cruz with a beautiful route along the coastline. Looking for a longer run, Run By The Sea is another great option this October. You can also check out the scenery with a 4k, 12k, or half-marathon.

Want to earn that Thanksgiving feast? Every year downtown San Jose hosts the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot. It’s fun for the whole family with a 5k, 10k, and a kid’s fun run. You’re sure to see at least a couple of turkey’s running beside you too!
