Change can be difficult. Change can be challenging. And when you’re trying to make progress towards achieving your health and fitness goals, it can be downright intimidating….but usually when “something” in your life shifts enough, you overcome those obstacles and move forward.
So when is that? When do you finally say, “I’ve had enough! It’s time for a change!”
It is different for all of us.
For many of our clients, it’s been a clothing-related incident that’s made them step into action – everything from not being able to zip up pants to a full-on breakdown when they discover they’ve gone up a whole size since last spring.
For others, it’s a terrifying incident – bad news from a doctor, a death in the family from causes that were perhaps preventable…
Whatever the case is for you, you will only ever be consistent with your fitness and nutrition and achieve/maintain your desired result when staying the same is no longer an option for you.
The Big Takeaway?
It’s only when we view the idea of staying the same as more painful than taking the required action to change that we can really transform.
Stop….go back and read that one more time and let it truly sink in.
If you’re not happy with your situation but you can live with it, the chances of you following through on the actions required to achieve your goals are minuscule.
Let’s be honest with each other. Working out can be uncomfortable (and sweaty! Lol!). There’s soreness and sometimes perhaps even exhaustion. It’s hard saying no to that delicious treat someone brought to share, or ordering the salad when you go out to eat.
However, if having a body you’re proud of and maintaining optimal health and performance for LIFE are the priority over staying comfortable, start taking small daily steps toward creating it and you will undoubtedly achieve success.
Start With The Little Things
- Leave the sugar out of your coffee.
- Walk up the stairs rather than taking the elevator.
- Park a little farther away from store entrance.
- Do squats while you’re watching TV.
- Go to bed an hour earlier.
- Order the protein and veggies over the burger and fries.
Every, single, choice we make throughout the day adds up. AND, it’s the compound effect of these small, daily choices, that lead to BIG changes down the road…and a body and lifestyle that you will quite happy to achieve and sustain.
So go get em!!!
Dedicated to your success,
