When you feel like your nutrition is on point and you’re hitting the workouts regularly but still not seeing the results you desire, there is this sneaky little thing that might be holding you back.
It’s way too often overlooked by fitness coaches as well.
It’s daily movement!
I know it sounds kinda boring, right? And you’re like, John–you’re kidding me right?!
But I’m telling you the truth! -PROMISE 🙂
Here’s some truth for you…
Even if you’re managing to hit the gym an 45 minutes a day, 5 times a week, it’s still a very small percentage of your overall week. It’s common for people to be sedentary outside of the gym…even if they’re super committed to their workouts. What they don’t realize it but it can kill overall results and health.
Kinda sucks, right?
But it’s true, so let’s work with it. How can you improve this you ask??
My best advice… Find ways to walk and move more.
No, I’m not adding another workout to your already busy life! I’ll make it super simple for you, try one of these simple ideas:
- Walk your dog more frequent or for a longer distance.
- Stretch or move while watching TV. (Don’t fast forward the commercials-use that time to help you move.)
- Get a standing desk. If that’s not an option, set an reoccurring alarm throughout your day. Use that as your reminder to walk-even if it’s just to the break room to refill your water bottle.
- Park further away when you go to the store. Don’t just snag the front row spot-get in those few extra steps.
Your body will be exponentially healthier, you’ll have an easier time shedding fat, and you’ll boost your metabolic rate almost effortlessly.
