Matthew Gabayan
Coach Matt brings a diverse movement and life background to Method3 Fitness, blending athletic experience, formal education, and a deep appreciation for sustainable health. Before becoming a personal trainer, Matt spent seven years as a professional chef, an experience that shaped his disciplined, detail-oriented approach. He later pivoted into fitness after earning his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.
Matt grew up competing in Tae Kwon Do, ran cross country and played badminton in high school, and later competed on his college men’s club volleyball team. He is an ACSM-Certified Personal Trainer and holds both the Functional Range Assessment (FRA) and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) certifications, giving him a strong foundation in movement quality, joint health, and mobility-based strength.
After sustaining a compression fracture to his L1 vertebra in 2020, Matt’s training philosophy shifted toward helping clients build strength while improving mobility and resilience. His coaching focuses on moving well, protecting joints, and supporting long-term performance so clients can stay active, confident, and pain-free. Matt is excited to join the Method3 Fitness team, build meaningful relationships with partners, and support them in achieving lasting health and performance goals.
