Look. Even though we’re San Jose bootcamp instructors, we love ice cream! Who doesn’t love ice cream on a hot summer day!? Since it’s usually laden with fats and sugar, most of us save the store bought versions for special occasions. But when we want that delicious, cool, and light flavor in a pinch, we make our own! And guess what? Today we’re sharing with our top 2 favorite nutrient-packed homemade recipes so you can make ice cream that will actually benefit you instead of growing your waistline.
Recipe 1: Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream
This first recipe is for anyone has a hankering for peanut butter.
Ingredients
- 3 Large Ripe Bananas
- 3 Tbsp No Sugar Added Peanut Butter
- Sprnkle of Salt
- 1/4 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- Sprinkle of Cinnamon
Instructions
- Freeze bananas cut into chunks.
- Blend once frozen
- Add the other ingredients and pulse to combine.
- Blend on high until smooth.
Optional: Top with peanuts. Then enjoy!
Recipe 2: Cookies & Cream Ice Cream
Add a little texture to your cool treat with a little crumble of cookie.
Ingredients
- 2-3 Very ripe bananas
- Milk of choice
- Sprinkle of salt
- 1-2 Cookies of choice
Instructions
- Cut and freeze bananas.
- Blend until they are smooth
- Add 2-4 tablespoons of milk and salt
- Add cookies once smooth
Eat right away or freeze a little longer for a harder texture.
