Even as a San Jose personal trainers, it can be confusing to make sense of the amount of diet plans, supplements, coaches, and offers on the market. It almost seems like every Facebook friend is selling a different solution. But we know that there are some things that stay consistent when it comes to getting the results you want. The biggest is your mindset. You can begin to drop body fat without spending any money. And no, it doesn’t require the next crazy fad diet. Instead, adopt these 3 habits.
Speak kindly to yourself.
Your San Jose Coaches fully believe that our bodies become what we say they are. If you’re constantly telling yourself that you’re fat or out of control, your behavior will reflect those things, and ultimately, so will your body. Next time you find yourself in that place of self criticism, try doing this.
- Pause. Put a full stop on your thoughts, mid-stream, and take a deep breath.
- Replace your negative words with positive ones. A few of our favorites are “I am awesome,” “I am strong,” and “I am beautiful, just the way I am.”
- Ask a friend or loved one for help. Something as simple as “I’m having a rough day. Can you pump me up?” will have your besties springing quickly into action. Do this on person or online. You’ll be surprised with how much support you have.
Visualize yourself creating the body you dream of.
In your mind’s eye, every single day see the version of you that you desire to become moving throughout your day, practicing the habits you want to commit to, and creating the body you want. Doing this will inspire and motivate you to follow through with your healthy habits of daily exercise and healthy eating.
Pay attention to your triggers.
Notice the emotion, experiences, and people surrounding your choices for bad food or skipping exercise. Then change your routine accordingly.
- Surround yourself with people who support you and are aligned with the same type of lifestyle you want.
- When your emotions are triggered, instead of following them up with bad habits (such as overeating or bingeing), see if you can take a positive action, one that will help you feel balanced and successful.
Changing patterns and habits can help change the outcomes. Creating change is never easy, and sustaining it for a lifetime is even harder. But I promise that if you incorporate these behavioral pieces into your daily routine, you will begin noticing a huge difference in yourself that will also show up in how your body looks.
