Transform Your Life & Increase Your Energy with Affirmations

Your words are more powerful than you can imagine. Used negatively, they can tear your down, intensify your doubts, and discourage you from making changes in your life. Used positively, however, your words can make down days a little brighter, increase your energy, boost your confidence and slowly transform every aspect of your life. How can you achieve this? By creating and reciting affirmations.

What is An Affirmation?

An AFFIRMATION is a positive statement or message that provides you with emotional encouragement and psychological support. Here are a few examples:

  • I deserve love and kindness.
  • I am strong.
  • With effort, I can conquer any challenge that comes my way.
  • I am committed to creating positive change in my life.

The purpose of affirmations is to shift the way you think and feel about yourself. In the long run, this inner change has the potential to influence your actions by empowering you to believe in yourself and ultimately succeed. But don’t take our word for it. Try reciting the affirmations listed above and see what happens!

Aligning Your Thoughts & Actions

Practicing affirmations is a great way to help you develop positive feelings about yourself and what you are capable of. You can take the practice to another level by pairing them with the action steps you need to achieve your goals. Here are are a few affirmations our coaches use to help themselves and their clients gain strength and lose weight:

  • “I DESERVE to have a healthy body. That’s why I’m committed to working out at least 3x a week.”
  • “I am COMMITTED to feeling good about my body and my life. I don’t allow my craving for unhealthy food to dictate the choices I make.”
  • “I am HAPPY when I feel strong. Working out makes me feel strong.”
  • “I am a WINNER. When I walk into the gym, I feel like I’m winning!”
  • “I ALWAYS PLAN AHEAD. I meal prep every Sunday, to set myself up for success.”

Develop an Affirmation Practice

Developing an affirmation practice is simpler than you think. All you have to do is:

  1. Write down 2-3 affirmations that align with what you want to achieve. You can look up affirmations online or create some on your own. Test them by saying them out loud. The feelings you get when you repeat them will tell you if you’re on the right track.
  2. Repeat them DAILY & OUT LOUD. The best time to recite your affirmations is in the morning, since it helps set the tone for your day! You can also repeat them anytime you need a reminder of why you’re working toward your goals.

Let affirmations be your course correction when you’re about to stray from the path. It takes less than 5 minutes a day. That’s all you need. Set a timer and repeat them as many times as possible in that period.

Pro Tip: Say your affirmations like you mean them. Passionately, so that they really sink in!

Let Go of Perfection

There may be some days when you are completely on board with your affirmations, and others when they’re harder to swallow. But eventually, the affirmations you practice become a part of who you are. And that’s what leads to success.
