As we are head into fall, the days are getting shorter. Whether you prefer this season or another, you might find yourself struggling to find motivation when sunrise is later and sunset is earlier. It’s all about your mindset, so there’s no reason to succumb to the urge to curl up early on the couch and call it a day. Try these thoughts instead. 1. Stay flexible. If you’ve been avoiding midday heat and jogging early in the morning or late in the evening, you might be able to do it a little earlier now, freeing up time later. 2. Retail therapy. Sometimes all it takes is spending a little money on new shoes or exercise gear to get you fired up and out the door. 3. Track your progress. It’s motivating, but it’s also flat-out helpful to have a solid, non-emotional record of where you’ve been and how it’s working. 4. Find a buddy. You might consider working out indoors more, and it’s always fun – and motivating – to do that with a friend. 5.Try a fitness challenge. Sign up for a seasonal fitness challenge, like a 30-day workout plan or join a group at the gym with a specific goal in mind. Setting new challenges helps you stay accountable and gives you a reason to keep moving, even when it’s dark or cold outside. Plus, it can be exciting to see what new limits you can push through during this time of year. Don’t let changing seasons get you down. Instead, use the momentum to motivate fresh thinking and activities. You might just love it! Method3 Fitness is conveniently located in San Jose.
