If you’re juggling work, family, and a to-do list that never ends, some mornings can feel a little (lot?) chaotic. What you do in those first 30–60 minutes after waking can completely change how your body feels for the rest of the day. Here are three quick morning habits that our Los Gatos personal trainers know can make a big difference for your hormones, your focus, and your energy… not to mention your results. ☀️ Water before coffee or tea After a full night’s sleep, your body is slightly dehydrated, so starting your day with a tall glass of water is a great idea. It helps your body wake up naturally, supports your digestion, and helps keep cortisol in balance. ☀️ Get natural light exposure early Step outside or stand by a bright window for a few minutes in the morning. Light tells your brain it’s time to be alert, which helps regulate your circadian rhythm (your body’s internal clock). This simple habit sets off a chain reaction that supports healthy cortisol and melatonin patterns, which means more daytime energy and better sleep at night. ☀️ Eat a protein-rich breakfast Your first meal of the day has a big impact on your hormones and metabolism. Aim for 20–30 grams of protein (things like eggs, Greek yogurt, or a smoothie with protein powder). This keeps your blood sugar steady, helps you stay feeling full till lunchtime, and gives your body the fuel it needs to stay focused and strong. Our Los Gatos trainers suggest you start with one or two of these habits and build from there. Don’t just try these habits for their effect on your hormones… they’ll boost your energy, focus, and your mood, too. Make it an amazing day, Method3 Fitness is conveniently located in San Jose.
