You’re going to want to save this blog because it’s got something special in it.
It’s one of our very favorite core routines, specifically designed to strengthen your core from basically every direction!
And it only takes a few minutes to get it done.
Here’s why it’s so important: Your core muscles form the foundation of every movement your body makes.
They stabilize your spine, support your posture, protect you from injury, and make everything else you do easier, from lifting groceries to running up a flight of stairs!
A strong core is about a lot more than crunches.
True core strength comes from training all the ways your core actually moves and works, from every direction.
This circuit hits them all.
Do the following exercises in a circuit for 1–3x through.
- Dead bug: 10 reps per side, moving slowly and with control.
- Russian twist: 10–15 reps per side, keeping your chest tall.
- Crunches: 15–20 reps, focused on drawing your chest toward your knees and ribs sliding toward hips.
- Pallof press: 10 reps per side, resisting any rotation through your torso.
- Plank: Hold for 20–45 seconds, keeping your hips level and your core braced.
Rest 60–90 seconds between rounds.
Bonus tip: When should you do your core workout?
It depends on your goals!
If core strength is your top priority, do it as one of the first things after your warm-up, so you can really focus on those moves.
Otherwise, do it toward the end of your workout.
Give this circuit a try and see how you feel!
